Victory!

One of the gripes I have always lamented about the NUS campus was that it does not bring to mind the vast sprawling landscape and historical buildings that many other universities lay claim to (Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard inter alia) so I was really glad that our claim bettered NTU's. (I mean, they have SO much space to begin with at their ulu corner of Sunnypore while we are cramming so tightly in Kent Ridge) But then again, I will miss all my mates who will still be stuck in Engine Fac, as well as Genki, Munchie's etc

Just something to expect when I come back from Japan yea. A whole new (cooler) environment, but on the flipside, my batch will not be called to the bar at the historical supreme court, but at the hideous monstrocity of that UFO landing site. Win some, lose some.

Silence

I seemed to have reverted back to the mindnumbing days of my youth, where time was on my side and I had nothing to do but to kill it. It is 2am again, and because the whole world is on pause, I stand here, alone in my thoughts

Influence

Reading Murakami's "Norwegian Wood" gave me an irresistable urge to taste again the sweetness of Sampoenas and coke to mix with my Chivas and of memories of persons past. Nevertheless, the person I want to be and the person I actually am do not converge, and I drank a glass of water, which did nothing for the mind nor the soul, and am now heading to bed. Nights.

Bangkok

view

View

Taken on the 78th floor, Baiyoke Sky Hotel where we lived
The city,
continuously redeveloping,
tearing down - rebuilding
Flanked by the Chao Phraya river
Outskirts stretching into the horizon
City engulfed in smoke

beans

beans

Taken while strolling Yaowarat, Bangkok's Chinatown
Chaotic, Messy and Uninhibited
The order in the chaos was found in the simplest of plants

River

transport

Taken on a river ferry towards the Royal Palace
Costing a mere 9 Baht
A means of getting to an end
An end, the destination, both temporal and spiritual

Recap

It is terribly unfair this I know, that my parents are the only 2 people in this world that cannot read my blog, but I am only continuing with this blog on relance on their promise that they would not invade my privacy.

I would miss the great views,

Moving out of Prince George's Park was a big chore, because I hoarded all the stuff from Sem 1 until now. I would miss this place, and all the independence/convenience it brought. And although I might be staying there again, i do not think I would be able to get a room with such a high view right next to the Bus terminus. I am defying the norm of moving back straight after exams, because I want to enjoy the feeling of being on my own in the silence of the night.

Besides learning how to play Tennis from Lionel et all (This kid has never lived in a condo maah), watching Movie after movie ( www.hollywoodclicks.com unlimited movie rental $35 a month), basically I have been taking things slow, just sleeping at 12 hour naps every day, reading voraciously (Finished "The Rule of Four", "Dance Dance Dance" and "The Glass Palace" within a week) because I never did have a chance to read for leisure during the semester. Basically making use of my unlimited WildWildWet membership, waiting for my mates to finish their exams ( they all in engine fac, just finished yesterday and had a feast at Blooie's Bar & Grill), learning how to cook from my Grandmother who is teaching me her signature dishes (so I wont starve in Japan), and organising post exam BBQs heh. Here's one of us "shaming" Mike heh heh

Niggling Mike
All of us less celeste

And on another note... the CONFIRMATION PACKAGE has been sent to me liao! Woohoo! but erm... jialat, how to read?

It took me 15 mins with my dictionary. I foresee the next sem is not going to be easy.
