Disappointment

Must everything be a trade-off? Is life nothing but a zero-sum game where there must be losers if there are to be winners? They agreed to let me stay in hostel after countless nights of thrashing. I admit, i lack the tenacity to travel 3 hours to and from school and home every day. However, i don't see the need for it to be wielded as a weapon for imposing welfare cuts. Today, i waive off all hopes to see the greatest city on Earth, New York. No Statue of Liberty, no White House, no Apple Megastore in Soho, no posh dinner at the Metropolitan Hotel with Ken.

No. I am not a brat aka 'poor little rich kid' complaining of lack of money. What i absolutely detest is my parent's uncanny ability to raise hopes SO HIGH, then bring them crashing down in an instant, using something as necessary as hostel staying to deprive me from a childhood dream.

I am waiting for the day where i get my financial independence, then i no longer have to be subjected to all their whims and fancies, the manipulative economic duress and financial arm-twisting. No more excuses, no more disappointments. No more crap.
